Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2019-2020

In another fashionable capital of the world – Paris, fashion week has just recently ended. France is the country where one of the most famous fashion houses was founded and many great fashion designers were born. Paris Fashion Week is one of the most influential events. We will make a small review of the collections fall/winter 2019-2020.

The Chanel show deserves special attention. This was the last collection that Karl Lagerfeld created. The show itself began with a minute of silence in memory of the fashion designer. For the show, wooden houses, trees and a lot of artificial snow were built. All the scenery resembled a small village in the mountains. Most of the looks in the collection were in black and white colours. But some, nevertheless, was very bright. The main patterns were the “goose feet” and the plaid on the classic for the brand Chanel tweed fabric.

The looks on the Miu Miu show were quite belligerent. Miuccia Prada for her autumn-winter collection 2019-2020 chose the military as the main element. Camouflage colouring, rough shoes contrasted with floral embroidery and transparent dresses. The decorations were the chaotic installation of various photos and videos on the screens.

The strict looks of dark shades were presented at the Alexander McQueen show. Pantsuits, jackets with intense shoulders. Also, draped elements were present in many looks. For example, one of the black silk suits with a fitted jacket and narrowed pants was with a special touch: satin draped sleeves. Or a voluminous red dress with a draped skirt and collar.

The main elements of racing competitions that Virgil Ablo used in the looks are checkered flags, overalls and puffed jackets from riders’ uniforms. Although the designer chose a sports theme, he did not forget about feminine dresses and elegant shoes.
